Synopsis:

After a careful study of the Bagobo tribe's language, the Jesuit Mateo Gisbert published a Bagobo dictionary with English translation in 1892. The author notes at the preface several turns of phrase that are difficult to translate to Spanish. He also shows the reader his methodology in translating the Philippine language to Spanish.
